When I am excited about something I can. not. contain. myself! Seriously, I am the worst at keeping surprises a secret. I am just bursting to spill the beans. I am a living spoiler alert.
The good news is no one around me ever has to live in suspense. Because I will tell them what they should be excited about before waiting for them to find out on their own.
Today’s bursting-at-the-seams-with-excitement is due to my new about page (and another surprise I am spilling below)!
An about page might seem like a really silly thing to be so excited about. But when I wrote the original in 2010, I was working a full-time corporate job (while blogging full-time on the side) and feared my bosses would think I was moonlighting and not taking my day job seriously. At the time I didn’t own what I do…why I am here.
Thankfully and courageously, just over a year ago I left my dismal cubicle to follow my true calling. I have never felt more alive! I get to spend lots of time with my two little boys before and after school. I get to work from my beautiful home in a light-filled, color-filled office. All the while, I continue on the journey of making my house a home and making it ours. I have been blessed to help hundreds of others do the same in their homes.
Now, I want my about page to shout from the rooftops why I am here. I am owning what I do. I am here for you!
I help design-loving women find confidence in their inner decorator by making interior design simple, practical, and fun!
This little caterpillar (yep, talking about me again) is coming out of her cocoon and she’s ready to fly!
So happy for you! The video series is a great idea. Congrats!
Thanks Amy! I can’t wait to get it out into the world!
Yeah! Looking forward to it!
Thanks Joy! I was just putting the final editing touches on the first video today!
Ahhhh…to be mid to late ’80’s. We young Mom’s spent our fortunes on Americana. It was expensive!! We all knew our style!!!
Life changed quickly though. It went OUT. Fast. I went very traditional. Friends went formal. We were in our 30’s. Now I think I can’t define my style. I’m old now! I have my mid 80’s book case unit. My piano. My kids changing table and Dad’s 50 year old tall dresser redone…my sister’s and then I think I used the desk area to put my makeup on and then it became my daughters childhood set and now is redone in layers of darker paints with gold and silver strait ions so it goes well with my Grandmas portrait that is fancily framed and over 100 years old…I just wonder what you’d think with my blend of new, old redone, little California tract house with its tiled roof and stucco walls!!! Tis unique. But what style??? I’ve no clue. Sentimental with accessories I switch around! Hmmm….yet people ask me to help decorate their homes!!!! No I will leave that to you and my childhood friend!! That’s why I need your class!!!
Gwen, The videos are coming soon!
