Editor’s Note: Let’s welcome Angela, from Joyously Domestic, to the Teal & Lime family.  Angela will be contributing her amazing ideas to the “Kitchen Made Simple” series.  When she sent me a sample for today’s post and I laid eyes on the owl printable, I screeched with excitement.  I love owls!  And, when I got her full post and all the printables, I almost cried with joy.  She solved Valentine’s Day for me.  Every year I am on the hunt for the perfect teacher gifts and the perfect non-candy, can’t-be-homemade kids gifts.  Well, Angela is bringing us all that and more today!

I’m so thrilled to stop by and share some fun Valentine’s Day ideas with you. Not only am I showcasing a few gift suggestions, but I brought by a bunch of free printables!

NOTE:  Printing works best on white cardstock paper. Simply right-click the image you want to print, save to your computer and then print. (Remember to print as a full page.) The printables are in high-resolution PNG format and are for personal use only.

For the Adults: Hot Tea Valentine

Valentines Tea Gift Free Printable | Joyously Domestic for tealandlime.com

Why not package up either loose leaf tea or specialty tea bags in a creative way for a teacher or co-worker? (This printable would work with hot cocoa or a specialty coffee, too.)

I chose triangle-shaped tea bags and packaged them into mason jars.  I used a burlap topper and some raffia to make it extra-special. (You could even use a clear party gift bag.  For an example of putting together gift bags with homemade toppers, feel free to visit my Holiday Hot Cocoa Kit with Homemade Stir Spoons post for inspiration.)

For the Kids (or Sweet-Loving Adults): An Adorable Honey Valentine

Bee Mine Honey Valentine Free Printable | Joyously Domestic for tealandlime.com

Give clover honey sticks or a pretty jar of local honey with a cute “Bee Mine” card attached.

My kids love to suck the honey out of the honey sticks as a little snack and I think these would be a great alternative to your child passing out candy to classmates. I found a 12-count package of them at Wal-Mart in the tea section for just under $3.00, but they can, also be ordered online from Stash (a tea company) for a little more. (They come in various flavors, too.)

I was inspired to create these printables from an art print project on Project Nursery. There are two color ways to choose from and a smaller size of the darker printable, so you have the perfect size for every Valentine gift.

For Your One True Love: 52 Reasons Why I Love You Valentine

52 Reasons Why I Love You Valentine Gift Idea | Joyously Domestic for tealandlime.com

This sweet idea costs next to nothing to make, but is incredibly meaningful for that special person in your life.  Expressing love to your sweetheart through this heartfelt, homemade gift just takes a little of your time, but will remind them of your love all throughout the year!

Using fifty-two little pieces of paper, write out reasons why you love your significant other.  Fold the pieces of paper, place them in a container (once again I used a mason jar), tie on some cute ribbon and attach a tag explaining the contents of the gift.  Each week throughout the year, they can pull out a note to read.

BONUS: Owl Valentine Printable

And, because I’m loving all things owl right now, here’s one more printable that I created for use with homemade gifts of your own or as pass-out cards.

Thanks for the “Bee Mine” printable! I am a beekeeper and have honey sticks (like close to 1000 from a fair last summer!) These will be perfect for my first graders valentine’s party tomorrow! I always try to find non-sugar treats because my daughter can’t eat processed sugar but raw honey is safe for her. Thanks again! they are adorable!
