I don’t know about you, but I am already ready for spring! Which is why I am so excited to share this inspiring room with you today…it is as bright and fresh as a spring day!
I teamed up with Wayfair to bring you this monthly series, to source the furniture and home decor you need to recreate your dream rooms at home! Submit your inspiration rooms on Pinterest, Facebook, or Instagram, with the hashtag #wayfairthisroom.
Now, onto the first room. Below, I am sharing all the details and full source list to recreate this fun living room!
Inspiration image via Style at Home
White Sofa – The crisp white sofa keeps this small living room light and fresh. Recreate the look with a tailored white sofa with a similar arm profile.
Whale Pillow and Yellow Striped Pillow – Bright, fun pillows keep this living room playful. Add a pop of color to the white sofa with yellow, blue, and turquoise throw pillows.
Storage Ottoman – The inspiration room is a small narrow living room, so the designer used a small cube ottoman for storage in front of the fireplace. If you room, is slightly larger, you can use a pretty storage bench for more hidden storage.
Chippendale Armchair – I chose to these gorgeous Chippendale chairs to swap in for the accent chairs. Add a bold pillow in the back of the chair or extra comfort. Try yellow stripes like the inspiration room.
Rug – A big dose of cheery yellow pattern sets the stage for fun in this living room. A flat-weave dhurrie with a similar trellis pattern is a great stand in.
End Table – Instead of a traditional coffee table, the inspiration room has a pair of bunching tables. Using two smaller accent tables “bunched” together saves space and offers more flexibility than a typical coffee table.
1. White Rectangle Mirror – A simple white mirror is a beautiful and easy way to decorate above the mantel.
2. Suzani Pillow (in blue) – This colorful pillow will brighten up any room.
3. Ikat Dot Pillow – This fun ikat dot pillow is a great pattern to mix with the other bolder patterns in the room.
4. Dog Prints – Did you catch the sweet dog print on the mantel in the inspiration room? Get a similar look with this pair of prints.
5. Honeycomb Vase – White vases are a simple, classic addition to any room. Use the smaller one to hold flowers on the bunching tables.
6. Metalworks Bunching Table – Here is a slightly different profile for the bunching tables.
7. Cube Ottoman (in navy blue) – If you don’t need extra storage in the ottoman, you can save some money and add a fun pouf instead.
8. Yellow Quatrefoil Rug – Here is another quatrefoil rug with an extra bold pattern.
Don’t forget: I will be sharing all the sources with you to recreate one room per month. Submit your inspiration rooms with #wayfairthisroom on Pinterest, Facebook, and Instagram.
P.S. Yesterday, I shared how I decorate from inspiration images on Wayfair.
Disclosure: Wayfair compensated for my time to create this design based on the inspiration room. Choice of the inspiration room, featured products, and all opinions in this post are mine.
Love all of this!!! Especially that Suzani pillow and the dog pictures. I am obsessed with anything teal and green and when you put them together I am in AHHH and pure perfection (:
Brittany, So glad you liked this room! The dog prints are my favorite!!
I like the idea of this series. However, I think the new chairs and the new bunching tables do not look similar enough to the inspiration room. Re: the new chairs, their backs and arms are completely different. I don’t think these chairs appeal to the same set of people as the inspiration chairs. Re: the tables, the inspiration ones look like they are made of wood, are rather plain, and a little bit chunky, whereas the new ones are metal, more stylized, and more delicate.
I looked on Wayfair myself for some chairs that were closer to the inspiration ones and found some navy blue and white ones (http://www.wayfair.com/Jonathan-Adler-Louis-Arm-Chair-9965-XJA1276.html). However, in general when I’ve been shopping for things for my own home, I’ve found that despite its lovely selection of products, the Wayfair website’s design makes it difficult for me to drill down to precisely what I want.
I hate to be negative, especially since I like the idea of this series so much. I realize that it’s just the first installment of this series, and I’m looking forward to the next ones! :)
Jess,
Thank you for sharing your opinion. My goal was to recreate the essence of the room, which was bright, cheery, and colorful. I hope you will submit some rooms you are interested in seeing re-created.
I love it! I actually really like your table choice way better than the inspiration picture-I think it really updates it and makes it look “2014”! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Melissa. I thought the lines on the tables I chose were really interesting…and two bunched together would make a fun visual maze.
I think you nailed it! That Wayfair room is very bright and cheerful and you stuck with the color scheme and general feel of the room with your choices. I kind of like your selections better even. :) I don’t think any of us can recreate a room that looks entirely like the one in a magazine or a website unless we bought every single item from said place, know what I mean? Plus once a room starts to come together you find that you wind up changing some things to make it more your own. I think you did a great job, Jackie. :) XOXO
How do I submit a room for #wayfairthisroom from Pinterest? For example, let’s say this room: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/214413632232782694/
I put #wayfairthisroom in the comments but it’s not showing up under the Pinterest search for “#wayfairthisroom” which yields this:

Jess, thanks so much for participating. There is currently an issue with the hashtag on Pinterest and I have a ticket open with Pinterest. In the meantime, please continue to pin your room with the hashtag and then leave your pin URL here in the comments. I have started repinning the rooms to a board called Wayfair This Room.
Wow, Jackie! This is awesome. You totally did an amazing job sourcing that room. I’ll definitely have to take a at Wayfair to get some room ideas for myself. Thanks for sharing & keep up the good work!
Hugs,
Jamie
