September 5, 2013 By Jackie

Grab a cup of coffee and settle in for a great post!  Today, I have not only one, but two complete mood boards for you.  And, the links to every single-item shown appear below each mood board.  I teamed up with Home Decorators Collection to bring you two mood boards for my most-requested room, the living room! Timing couldn’t be better, since they all indoor seating, tables and select cabinets are 20% off through the end of September.

Home Decorators Collection has long been one of my top sources for client work.  I can always find anything I need in their vast collection.  Personally, I look forward to their catalogs in the mail (yay, a new one arrived yesterday!).  The online store is great, but I love seeing the items styled in the context of a room, too.  I love taking a coffee break with the Home Decorators Collection catalog.

I set out to create one awesome mood board for you, but there was so much good stuff to recommend I could not contain it all on one board.  So, you get a double feature.  Two complete living room plans entirely sourced from the Home Decorators Collection.  One stop shopping at it’s finest.

I packed these boards full of great furniture and decor.   They are very detailed.  To see a larger view, simply click on the image.

Fresh & Bright Traditional Living Room

The first look I tackled is a sunny traditional living room.  The yellow makes the room sunny, but could easily be swapped out for any other accent color.  Be sure to click-through to the rug, lamps, and accent chair to see all the other color possibilities.  My favorite piece in this room is the Gaming Wheel wall decor.  Home Decorators Collection has a great collection of unique and affordable wall decor and art.

Industrial/Traditional Living Room

For the second look, I combined to seemingly opposite styles…traditional and industrial.  I am calling it Refined Industrial.  Traditional furniture gets updated with a little industrial edge for the accent pieces.  I went with a beautiful blue scheme, but again make sure you click-through to see all the color possibilities for the sofa, lamps, and rug.  My favorite piece in this room is the Normandy Double Chest (two shown).  The basket-style drawers inside a white cabinet are so gorgeous.  I have one on my wish list for the basement family room to hold game boards and pieces.  They would also be great for toy storage!

Home Decorators Collection Navy Living Room

Did you notice the amazing lamps and rugs in each room?  I could get lost for days looking at all the amazing lighting.  But, I spent the most time choosing rugs for these boards, because Home Decorators Collections has so many amazing rugs.  Remember, they are one of my favorite rug sources?!

Before we go, let’s play favorites!  Which room do you like best?  What’s your favorite piece?  As much as I am partial to the brightness of the first board, I absolutely love the edgy industrial look.  Another favorite piece is the Reflections Three-Piece Cabinet on the first board.  See it in my client’s home office before & after.

I just love the industrial/traditional look! I’ve always had a product crush on that coffee table with wheels. What a neat way of showing how different products will all look together, nice job!

Thanks, Kiri. The coffee table is amazing…it inspired the Industrial part of the room!

Oh my goodness, I don’t think I can decide, wish I could have a room of each! I love the yellow of the top board but also the industrial accents of the second one-that floor lamp is amazing! I LOVE Home Decorators too! Thanks for the awesome inspiration boards, off to explore them more!

Gorgeous! I am torn! I think I like the overall look of the industrial living room better, but I LOVE those mirrored sconces in the fresh and bright room! Great job!

Jenna, Aren’t those sconces gorgeous?! I thought they would look fabulous flanking the big eyesore of a TV :)

You nailed both mood boards! I love Home Decorators too. I am definitely a Traditional/Industrial girl. I actually define my style as Modern/Rustic (another total opposite) and this is pretty much exactly it! I will take one of each, please!

Heather, love it. Modern and rustic is such a great combo!

I like the industrial/traditional one. I like all the wood tones and the blue/brown color scheme. The first one is a bit too formal for me. I happy you found so many great things that you made two mood boards!

Kim, I had to restrain myself from doing more than two. They have great stuff for bedrooms, bathrooms, and craft rooms, too!

I think the “Fresh & Bright” room is more my style, but there are elements of each that I love, particularly the rugs you selected. Oh, and the Reflections cabinet…soooo pretty! Great picks, Jackie!!

Thanks, Emily. The whole Reflections collection is gorgeous!

Lovin’ the industrial traditional room!! You know I am a sucker for all things vintage… all that old-ish wood… swoon!! I’ll take the coffee table, the candle holders, and that floor lamp, please?!? I mean seriously, that floor lamp screams Vintage News Junkie!!! :)

I knew you would, Candace! They have a similar table lamp that would be awesome for a writing desk :)

Wow! I’m not sure which one I love more…I love some of the beachy / vintage elements in the fresh and bright living room…and yet the industrial vibe is really working for me in the second one. I think if I had to choose, industrial it would be! But brava on both of these! And thanks for sharing all the links to your sources.

Love them both! But the awesome coffee table and blue rug put the Industrial over the top….thanks for sharing the sources!
