Happy New Year!!! I am so excited 2013 is here and look forward to all this year holds for us.
I have one client who will be ringing in the New Year with a new foyer! She had a designer help pick paint colors when they built the house, but it ended up being a lot of white on white. They had designed an amazing paneled wall going up the staircase, but with all the white everywhere it was not the showpiece they hoped it would be. My first recommendation was to paint all the other walls a beautiful navy blue and let the white paneling pop.
I knew such a dramatic paint color change in a two-story space might be overwhelming. To ease any fears, I created a few quick mockups of the space to show how the navy blue would return the focus in the room to the staircase and the paneled wall. I also added the new chandelier.
Wouldn’t you love to have such a beautiful foyer? Besides the paint recommendation, my favorite part of the design are the pops of Kelly green on the tray and picture frames.
Note: Out of respect to my clients, I share completed mood board designs, but I do not share the source information. I hope you find the mood boards inspiring.

My son’s headboard is painted BM Hale Navy. LOVE that color!
Beautiful foyer, love the dark navy paint with white.
Love the light in the entry #1! Where is that from?
Love your mood boards!! I would love to see some ‘afters’ as well, if your clients are willing to share! After taking a break for the holidays, I was sad to see I missed the change to enter to win a mood board. Keep up the good work in 2013! (Woops, typed in 2012 at first :))
