December 31, 2012 By Jackie

Before we get into the top posts of 2012, I want to thank everyone that entered the custom mood board giveaway.  The winner was notified.  It was Nikki, who said,

The first room when you walk in our house is still empty after 2 years of living there. We still have no idea what to do with it. Help!!

I look forward to helping Nikki with her front room.  And, I will be back in a few weeks to share the mood board.

Now, onto the top posts of 2012.  Amazingly, some of the top posts in 2012 were actually old posts from 2011 that got a resurgence of traffic.  They were all featured in the Top DIY Projects of 2011 roundup.  For this post I will focus on the top projects published in 2012.  Here they are in order starting with the most popular.

DIY Faux Malachite Knobs

Faux Malachite Knobs – Who would have thought Sharpie on porcelain knobs would be so popular?!  Not only was this the most popular, it was also the quickest and cheapest project of 2012.

ikatenvelopepillow4
Envelope Pillows Revisited – A.K.A. “How Envelope Pillows Work?”.  I received lots of questions on my first post on two seam envelope pillow covers, so I did another post showing exactly how I make them and how the flap on the pillow works.  These are absolutely the easiest pillow covers to make.

Candlestick Apothecary Jars
Candlestick Apothecary Jars – In a prior life these were candy jars at my son’s bug party.  After the party, I repurposed as pretty storage jars for the bathroom.

Votive Candle Wall
Wall of Votives – This was a super simple project that took our bathroom to a whole other level of relaxation and romance.

Stair Tread Shelves
Stair Tread Shelves – I love these shelves.  They held craft supplies in the original post, but more recently they hold all of our cleaning supplies in our newly reclaimed laundry room.

babyshowertableangle
She’s Going to Pop Baby Shower Decor & Food – I have two boys, so it was a ton of fun to do a girly party for my SILs baby shower.  I sort of loved all that bright pink, even if it was only for a day.

shinemeltedcrayonart
Sunshine Melted Crayon Art – You guys loved this project as much as my boys did.  This was our best kid art of 2012.

Striped Curtains
No Sew Shower Curtain Curtains – I cut up a West Elm shower curtain to make a pair of curtains for my son’s nursery.  West Elm featured them on their blog, Front + Main.

babyshowergametray
She’s Going to Pop Baby Shower Games and Favors – A few simple and cute games made the baby shower a hit.

Canvas Art Paint Makeover
How to Take Art You Like and Make It Art You Love {Pinterest Challenge} – You won’t believe how gloomy this artwork started.  Flipping it upside down and a little creative painting transformed it into a bright and happy piece.

I could not possible choose a favorite from this roundup.  You, my lovely readers, seem to love all the projects I loved doing this year.  What’s your favorite? Or what kind of projects would you like to see more of in 2013?
