There is nothing I love more than cozy glamour this time of year.  I loved creating this mood board for a “glamorous cabin retreat” for a client’s living room.  My client had the basics covered with dark leather couches and a wood media stand, she just needed help bringing in the style.  I focused on suggesting accent furniture, decor, and accessories to create a modern glamorous lodge feel.

My client’s current living space was beige…beige carpets, beige walls, even beige ceilings.  This mood board is designed to blow her straight out of that beige comfort zone.  I took her words “glamorous” and “cabin retreat” and ran with them.

The teal and golden color palette makes for a modern, yet cozy feel along with the existing brown leather furniture.  The grey wall color has a hint of a blue undertone.  Lots of glamorous, shiny materials will help bounce light around the room and make it feel brighter…super important for balancing out the dark leather furniture.

Glamorous Cabin Retreat Mood Board

Ahhh…where sparkle and nature meet!  I love mixing rustic wood tones with glamorous, shiny elements.  I adore this color combination, unlike anything I have ever actually seen in a real cabin, but it works.  Texture was another important factor in this design.  From pin-tucked and wool shag pillows to the cut pile rug, I layered in different textures to make the space extra cozy, even with a predominantly cool color palette.

Note:  Out of respect to my clients, I share completed mood board designs, but I do not share the source information.  I hope you find the mood boards inspiring.

I love it, if I had to sum up the style I’m going for in my home it would definately be this! I really like the rug and lamp, really cool punch of color!

I love the overhead light (#2) and the peacock pillow is wonderful (#4)! I would put them in my own house in a heartbeat. The end table (#12) is a nice unexpected note, and it goes really well with the wood candle holders (#1). Another great makeover!! :)
