I am a sucker for anything red with glass doors. However, it was not too long ago that I claimed I like red, but just can’t live with it. Well, it turns out I also can’t live without red. Luckily there is one room left in the house where I have not banished red.

The guest room is a safe zone for red.  I have not shown this room before on the blog, but today you will get a little sneak peek into this room.  More will be revealed soon as we get prepared for my in-laws to come visit in a few weeks.

The rooms is a gorgeous blue.  It is one of my favorite colors in our whole house color scheme.  The color is Azure by Martha Stewart.  Red looks divine paired with this blue.  So my Modern Americana family room design is going to get repurposed for the guest room.

It all starts with this amazing little red cabinet.  I spotted this guy at Target and went weak in the knees.  Besides the amazing look, the price was perfect.  It was on sale for $112 (regularly $149) and with my REDcard I scored it for about $106.  The cabinet has a gorgeous red lacquer-like finish.  It is glossy and smooth.  The doors have tempered glass and the interior is all red too.  I was able to assemble the cabinet by myself in under 30 minutes.

In a perfect world, and at such an amazing price, I would have bought two of these cabinets for nightstands.   Unfortunately the room layout won’t allow for two.  This one is temporarily sitting between the windows until we can rearrange the whole room.  It is destined to be a nightstand for one side of the bed.  Since I can’t fit two nightstands, I am excited to have one really awesome, fun nightstand.

I love it! You need to be a spokesperson for Target since you always find such amazing items there.

I’m so going to Target today. Can’t wait to see the rest of the room. If you need another night stand could you possibly have a smaller table in the same shade of red?
