I continue to make progress on the bug party…yay!  I am so excited all the projects leading up to the party won’t be left for the week before.  In my last bug party update, I shared a few decor and supply finds.  Since that update, I finished making the candlestick candy jars.  They will be filled with gummy worms and other bug-like candies at the party.

Candlestick Candy Jars

In this update, I want to share a few more decor finds.  The color scheme is definitely leaning toward green, grey, and natural wood.

Bug Party Decor

  • The small green paper lanterns are from my stash.
  • I found the decorative twig balls at HomeGoods.  The package has 2 large balls, 6 medium balls, and 6 small balls for only $12.  These can be used post party as vase filler.
  • The laser cut wood frames are from Michaels.  Best find ever!  Unfortunately, not every Michaels carries them.  My local store does not have these, but I found them in a store near work.  The large frame was only $6.99 and the small ones were $2.99 each.
  • The roll of sheet moss is from Joanns.  It was $16.99 for an 18 x 48″ sheet.  Luckily I had a 40% off coupon.

Bug Party Inspiration

The paper lanterns and decorative balls will become part of the paper lantern mobile from the bug party inspiration board.  The laser cut frames will be party signage.  The large frame will be a welcome sign for the door and the smaller frames will be used around the party.  The moss will be used throughout the party with other greenery.  My vision is a lush green, whimsical wonderland…filled with bugs of course.

Corked Glass Jars

Remember those cool corked glass jars I found at the consignment shop?  I think they will be used first as decor at the bug party.  I think they will make adorable specimen jars for a centerpiece.

Your kids are going to have so much fun. And the adults will get eye candy (and maybe real candy).
