Our family photographer created this beautiful two-sided birth announcement for Jax. I simply adore the photo of him curled up on the big yellow platter. Don’t worry he wasn’t cold. They warm up the platter and the studio before doing newborn shoots. He curled right up for a nap when I laid him down. I wanted to preserve his birth announcement. Since we had just moved into the house (30 days after his birth), we had no other decor on his nursery walls. I thought the cheery yellow on the announcements would be a welcome change.
I picked up the frame for 50% off at Michaels. The double mat holds two 5 x 7s. Unfortunately, the openings were slightly less than 5 x 7 and the announcement was perfectly 5 x 7 with a design that extends all the way to the edges. To resolve that problem I mounted the announcements on top of the picture opening. I used two announcements to display the front and back. By mounting them over the inner opening, they appear to float in the larger mat openings. There is a small diagonal wall adjacent to the crib which was the perfect space to hang the frame.
