A great holiday centerpiece can bring the spirit of Christmas into any room.  Although we are not doing any entertaining this year, I still wanted centerpieces for us to enjoy at our own family meals.  I feel some of the best centerpieces are inexpensive and crafted with things you already own.  A little fresh greenery or blooms brings everything to life.  After creating a simple winter arrangement for the kitchen table, I set my sights on the dining table.  I again wanted a simple arrangement using mostly things I had on hand.

The two long wire baskets I found a while back at HomeGoods for $12.99 each. I intend to eventually use them in my craft room to hold punches, paints, and ribbon. In the meantime they make an awesome container for a nice long centerpiece.

I layered in some fresh pine, spruce, and holly greenery.

Then I loaded them up with ornaments starting with large glass ornaments from Crate & Barrel. I love them, but was hesitant to hang them on the tree with two toddlers running around.

The other lime and turquoise ornaments are favorite leftovers from years past when we only decorated our tree in blues and greens.  I loved repurposing the ornaments that no longer work with our Christmas tree decor.

For good measure I stuck in a few small white branches.  This is the perfect way to display odds and ends ornaments.
