A Year In Review

As if die-cut cards and fabric lined envelopes don’t make our Christmas cards special enough, I decided to include a fun little year in review letter.  But instead of a dull, wordy letter we opted for a sassy, brief infographic!  Can you tell how much I love this?  I fell in love with this idea after seeing Amy’s version on My Three Monsters.

I designed the letter with colors that coordinate with our Christmas cards.  I found all the icons at The Noun Project.  I did have to modify the dog icon to look a bit more like our sweet border collie.  Our letter measures 7 x 10″.  This was intentional so it could fold in half and fit in our Christmas card envelopes.

Infographic Christmas LetterFor the version I am sharing here I edited some of the personal information…we don’t actually live in a city called Suburbia.  My age bubble, though, says “It’s a Secret” on all versions :)  I got quite a bit more graphic with the kids information.  They both recently had their checkups and I thought it would be fun to put their current heights and weights.

I think the year in review infographic might just become a tradition around here.  It was fun to create and hopefully equally as fun for our friends and family to read.

What program did you use to make this? I’ve been wanting to do some like for this a couple of years, but don’t know where to start. Yours looks great!

Sierra, I used Adobe Illustrator to create mine from scratch. Another option would be to modify a newsletter template in your regular word processing program. You can choose a template that has the layout and columns you like, then just put in new text and images. I used the nounproject.com for the icons.
